Zack McMillan

Zack McMillan is the Head Coach/Owner of CrossFit Rocked. He has been an athlete in hockey, baseball, basketball, and volleyball. When Zack was 18 years old he decided to focus his time and efforts towards hockey. He played two seasons with the Winkler Flyers and captained the Winnipeg Saints during his 20-year-old season.

After his MJHL career, Zack received a CIS hockey scholarship to Acadia University located in Wolfville, Nova Scotia. He played four seasons with the Acadia Axemen and graduated with a Bachelor of Kinesiology degree. He earned the award of Academic All-Canadian for all four years of his university career.

After graduating from university and retiring from hockey, Zack was longing to find that competitive edge once more. While working as a personal trainer in Winnipeg he began training at Undefeated CrossFit and fell in love with the sport of fitness.

Zack’s love for CrossFit continues to grow each day and his deep passion for sports and coaching has led him back to his hometown of Brandon, Manitoba where he opened CrossFit Rocked on January 1st, 2013.

Joel Yanick

Joel discovered CrossFit while trying to find a training program suited for his career as a Firefighter/ Paramedic. The high intensity programming was a perfect fit and is used by many fire departments across North America.

“The idea of moving moderately heavy loads and generating explosive power safely while you are fatigued is ideal for my line of work. We wear forty pounds of personal protective equipment, carry multiple tools and drag several hundred pounds of hose into dangerous situations. It doesn’t take long to become fatigued in these circumstances, which is why training my body to move well under stress is so important to me.”

Firefighters & Paramedics see the effects of inactivity and injury everyday. Most are preventable by learning proper movement mechanics, developing strength in full ranges of motion, and keeping the cardiovascular system healthy. Joel enjoys learning new skills and sharing his knowledge with anyone willing to listen. Joel and his wife appreciate the positive, supportive community that is CrossFit Rocked.

Ron Jersak

Ron Jersak began CrossFit at CrossFit Rocked in the fall of 2013 at the encouragement of family and friends and he has not looked back.

"CrossFit exercise programming allows me to accomplish a lot in one hour of exercise. Increased strength, aerobic capacity, mobility, and balance can all be achieved with regularly attending classes at CrossFit Rocked.”

Ron enjoys the energy that comes from working out with a group of people, and pushing himself toward a new skill, usually of a gymnastics nature ...."a press to handstand would be nice".

Andrea Robinson

Coach

  • CrossFit Level 1 Trainer

For Andrea, health, fitness, and nutrition have always been a part of her life. Her pursuit in fitness started through teaching swimming lessons, life guarding, and first aid at the YMCA. Being around a fitness facility regularly, she developed a passion for running, which led her to complete several half marathons. Subsequently she focused more on lifting weights and competed in several figure competitions. In 2013 she was looking for a different physical activity, which led her to CrossFit Rocked.

The sport of CrossFit introduced her to Olympic lifting, new skills, and untraditional methods of cardio which provided her with a different way of exercising and gave her many measurable goals to work towards. This, along with the motivation and camaraderie of working out in a group setting, made CrossFit Rocked a perfect fit.

For her, the best part of coaching is seeing Rocked members' determination and courage as they accomplish new movements that exceed what they formerly thought was possible. As the quote says "Just because I can't do it today doesn't mean I can't do it someday".

Andrea enjoys her time spent at the gym and she looks forward to continuing to learn and train with the great coaches and members of CrossFit Rocked.
